I have been trying to figure out a way to use this blog as a great platform for readers. It's rather difficult to figure out what I am passionate about, that others will enjoy reading. Then it hit me; I am a #stayathomemom that is also growing a small business. What better material is there?!
Let's start at the beginning, I became a stay-at-home-mom five years ago, when my (then) family of three moved to a town that was wayyyyy more expensive than what we were used to. In all honesty, child care was going to be more expensive than our living expenses. How is that even possible? Thus, my journey began. My daughter and I had a lot of fun, going on adventures, and trips to Target, but there was still this need for me to contribute to our family income.
At first I began making simple things that I liked. Hoping to find those that had similar tastes, but turns out that my mom was the only one that wanted to buy anything from me. I continued to do research and to work on my sewing skills so that I could start #buildingabusiness from home.
It wasn't until baby number 2 was conceived that I finally found what I loved to make, and that others actually wanted to buy. During my pregnancy, I learned to crochet. I did not start with blankets, scarves, granny squares, etc. No, I like to jump to more complicated projects, and I began making baby shoes.
It was then that I discovered the best way to build a business; making something that is truly inspired. Since then, Not only have I found my niche, I've also become a mother of three, and now I have my own website. It's still a work in progress, but I have got big ideas, and some awesome changes coming soon.
Keep following along as I dive into how I manage to build a #smallbusiness while maintaining a home, three kids, and everyone's busy schedules!
Side note: I want to give a shout out to my husband, because he left me in peace to write this short blog ;) #progress
